TITLE: Copper Canteen
MATERIAL: copper APPROXIMATE SIZE: 8 inch diameter ESTIMATED AGE: 75-100 years CONDITION: beautifully dented from much use PRE-AUCTION PRICE: $ 250 dollars SHIPPING: $45 dollars ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I don't have much information on this canteen. It is only the second copper canteen that I have ever found. I discovered it here in Mexico. The greenish old patina and dented appearance addsto its charm. The drinking spout is a copper fitting that is threaded on the inside. I do not have the cap. |

TITLE: Big Pair Charro Spurs
MATERIAL: iron and silver APPROXIMATE SIZE: impressive 7 1/4 inch rowels ESTIMATED AGE: 100 years CONDITION: very good condition for age. PRE-AUCTION PRICE: $ 2,400 dollars SHIPPING: $45 dollars ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: It is a rarity to see such well preserved, large specimens such as this pair. The original heel strap buttons are intact. You can see in the enlargement of the second photo that the silver is only applied to the part of the spur that is viewed from the the outside -- which is normally the case. |

TITLE: Veleros de Procesión -- Early Spanish Processional
Candle Holders (pair)
MATERIAL: iron APPROXIMATE SIZE: Not counting the base, 14 inches tall by 7 inches wide ESTIMATED AGE: 300 years old CONDITION: very good condition for age. PRE-AUCTION PRICE: -- at eBay auction --SHIPPING: -- free shipping --ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: This matched pair of processional candle holders come Spain. They were purchased from a reputable dealer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. They had been used by a cofradía which is a religious brotherhood. On the bottom of each holder is a socket into which was inserted a a long pole something about the size of a broomstick so that the candle could be carried aloft in the relious processions. Not permanently affixed within each socket, I have placed a wooden plug secured with silicone. The wooden plug goes down over a metal pin protruding upward from the black metal base. The pair also looks great hanging on the wall -- but I am short of wall space (which is also the reason that I sell so many of the pieces that I would like to keep). These are unique pieces and especially rare to be found in a pair. |
