Description: 18th Century Spanish Colonial Arcon Trunk, (includes sturdy, nearly new 4-legged cedar base)
Material: Hardwood with  hammered iron hinges and decorations
Size: Top measures 22 1/2 inches by 46 inches.  Height without base is 22 inches. The new removable cedar base adds 4 inches to the height. 

Condition:
 Good sturdy trunk with fancy joints holding firm.  Hinge on one side is slightly loose,

I purchased this arcon from an hacienda in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, but prior, the arcon was in Mexico City. Perhaps it originated in Oaxaca or even Spain
